Hallucinated memory

Hallucinated memory

The artist proposes to us a change of support, but he continues to be the same person: a hallucinated, a man who is a prisoner of his oneiric fantasies, an explorer of his surprising memory. Bonachea repeats, he insists in an old question, as old as mankind itself: are we our memories?

In six volumetric pieces and six paintings with suggestive titles Bona has always been good at titling the artist submerges us once more into the restless invention that his work has always been. Sculptures and ingenious installations, square or circular canvases display their closed universes of enigmatic beings, of particular chromaticism before us, in particular greens and blues that should be baptized with his last name (i.e., Bonchean greens and blues), thus anticipating the largest part of his universe.

Let us go back to the question: how far does the whimsical selection of our memories form our personality? In the meantime, each one prepares his answer. I admit that Vicente Rodríguez Bonachea remains alive as a creator, his work renews itself, his poetic discourse beats.
