Agustín A. Villafaña Rodríguez

Education and Professional Experience

He studied at the Provincial School of Visual Arts José Joaquín Tejada in Santiago de Cuba and at the National School of Art, Cubanacán, in Havana, Cuba.

He is a member of the International Association of Visual Arts of the Unesco (AIAP), of the Cuban Association of Handicraft Artists, of the European Terracotta Center, Florence, Itly, and of the Iberian American Ceramics Association of Spain.
Founder of the Terracotta Group, as a member of which he exhibited from 1985 through 1990.

He has received the following distinctions: Distinction Majadahonda (1990), Distinction Juan Marinello (1998) and Distinction for National Culture (1997).

Works of his authorship are in the Museum of Contemporary Ceramics of Havana, Cuba; the European Terracotta Center, Florence, Italy; the Museum of Ceramics of the Caracas Cultural Center, Venezuela; the Littefow Museum, California, USA, and the universities Oswego, in New York, and CUJAE and ISCA, in Cuba.
