Deborah Nofret

Cárdenas, Cuba, 1967. She lives and works in Havana, Cuba, and Ponferrada, Spain.

Education and Professional Experience

Her work mixes painting and photography with digital animation, video and public interventions. She often uses her own image, a sort of self-referential obsession, presented to the spectator as a concave mirror that reflects the artist’s most intimate concerns and contradictions. Many times she uses electronic tools, employing them in new challenging forms looking for the necessary communion between individual and group work, between men and cultures.

Bachelor in Psychology, Universidad de Educación a Distancia (University for Education at a Distance) (UNED), Ponferrada, 1996.
Workshops on film scripts, International Film School of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, 1998.
